Businesses want video adverts, and most of them cannot afford to make them

Every small business owner knows that short videos sell better than flyers, but very few of them have the budget for actors, a camera crew or a regular content creator. That gap is an opportunity for anyone who can make good AI adverts. If you have already tried, you may have run into problems like these:

  • Your character's face changes from one scene to the next, so the advert looks fake and confusing.
  • The wrong person speaks, the voice sounds foreign, or the lips do not match the words.
  • Extra jewellery, extra fingers or a misspelt logo appear out of nowhere and ruin a good clip.
  • You use up your free credits on random experiments before you have a single usable scene.
  • You can make a clip, but you have no idea how to turn it into a finished advert or what to charge a client for it.

None of these problems mean you are not creative enough. They happen because most people open an AI tool and start generating before they have a plan. This guide gives you that plan.

Built from a real advert that is live today

I made a 60-second story advert for Souvenir Gifts Haven, a souvenir business in Lagos. It shows guests at a Nigerian wedding struggling at a crowded souvenir table and then discovering a calm, organised and premium stand. The advert has 13 characters, and it is live on Instagram, Facebook and TikTok.

I did not hire a single actor or rent a single camera. I planned the cast, the location and the product shots, generated every scene with AI, fixed the mistakes and edited the final advert on my laptop.

This guide breaks that project down step by step and prints every one of the 41 prompts I used, so you can see exactly how a real client advert was made rather than guessing from short tutorials.

By the end of this guide, you will be able to

01

Plan before you generate. Use a simple six-stage workflow that keeps faces, outfits and products consistent from the first scene to the last.

02

Create reference sheets. Build a character sheet, a location reference and a product reference that the AI can follow every time.

03

Bring images to life. Turn still images into short video clips with natural Nigerian-English voices and believable movement.

04

Fix the common mistakes. Correct the wrong speaker, extra jewellery, misspelt logos and lip-sync problems with tested fixes.

05

Finish a real advert. Edit your clips into a polished vertical advert with captions, music and a branded end card.

06

Sell it as a service. Package, price and pitch AI adverts to businesses with ready-made messages and a client brief.

Creator of @productmum · Lagos, Nigeria

I am Frances, the mum behind @productmum. I spent nine years in banking at Zenith Bank, took a long career break to raise my children, and then rebuilt my career from Lagos around AI content creation and automation.

Everything I teach comes from work I have actually done: a full AI wedding advert for Souvenir Gifts Haven that is live on Instagram, Facebook and TikTok, a website for Cakes and Bites bakery, a client intake automation for a counselling practice, and the AI job finder I built for my own remote job search.

I write my guides for beginners because I remember how confusing it was to start. I explain every new word in plain English, I tell you what each tool really costs, and I show you the mistakes I made so that you can avoid them.
